You have a lot of facts Luddie, I don't know how your brain stores so much information lol. ....You talk about Christmas evolving, Do you know were I see it in the 28th century? I don't. It will cease to exist, and be just another memory in a history book. The government is slowly taking Christianity away from us and eventually they will succeed. If it manages to stick around at all, it will be a secretly celebrated holiday. -MissyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6655038913540975453.post-17800392920534903422007-12-19T22:42:00.001-05:002007-12-19T22:42:00.001-05:00FABULOUS ENTRY! Not one ornament hangs...not one angel...no tree. Nada. I have to get presents for my son. Other than that...there wouldn't be much celebration here. Not because of my beliefs, but because I'm so discusted with the commercialism of the holiday. It used to not bug me so much. Sometimes I think it would be a much more Holy celebration if they'd have marked a day all to it's self to celebrate the birth of Christ. But we have what we have. And thank God He knows each heart and what we hold dearest on this holiday! And as you hold him precious to your heart, I pray you will enjoy the warmth and love of Christmas. - Barbara<br>Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6655038913540975453.post-59362802543795727712007-12-23T00:06:00.000-05:002007-12-23T00:06:00.000-05:00Yes, I've heard these recountings of how the Churc...Yes, I've heard these recountings of how the Church chose the date to celebrate the birth of Christ... how it has adopted customs from various cultures throughout time with Christian ways, making Christian worship familiar to them. As you said, it doesn't change the story of Jesus, but it does make the story easier to understand... at many levels. BTW, thanks for visiting me and commenting in my journal this week.
