Red Spot and Red Spot, Jr.

Here you can easily see both ancient storms, noting that the smaller one knicknamed Red Spot, Jr., is the proximate size of earth.  It was always a white-like color but suddenly, last February it changed color from white to an orange-red hue.  It is now almost identical to its brother, the famous Red Spot storm.  Astronomers, after being startled by the sudden, unexplained color of the smaller storm, have had to name it Red Spot, Jr., for reasons obvious.  It remains a mystery.

Isn't space amazing? I have had a few friends with telescopes and have been able to enjoy looking at simple things.  The moon is always amazing to me to see through a telescope. And Saturn.  Those rings!
Have a good night.

Cathy 2 Pam:  Agreed!  Did you know the Jovian moon Titan has rings too?  Only they're not horizontal like Saturn, they're vertical!  Doesn't that just get you?  So glad you appreciate these things, the most amazing things (not) on earth lol.
