Christening

Well I can't fight it - and find I don't want to anyway.  So many sweethearts here in J-Town have admitted to calling me Luddie rhyming with Muddy, and are so used to it, I happily surrender!  IT'S OKAY!!  My family put that moniker on me early, as in Ludwig (for my hero Mr. Beethoven) but who's to say people didn't pronounce Ludwig as Ludd instead of Lood, right?  Right!

So "Luddy" it is.  "Cathy" isn't bad either lol.

Well my dear friend for me you will always be Loodie forever.  No Luddie, No Cathy, just the wonderful person I met quite a few years ago, who reminds me of Sally Fields on of my favorite actresses.  You have a good weekend my dear friend Luddie (Loodie).

Cathy again what's in a name?
There are no superlatives that I can think of for the kind of person you are even if there was I wouldn't want to muddy the water! So luddie or muddy that will just have to stick.
Your other pen name Louise made me want more from your chest of knowledge and description. So what's in a name? Fred x

I like to call you Cathy but always recognise you as Luddie in my journal and I pronounced it Luddie with Muddy.  I like Beethoven too...especially his Pastoral.   Now that is sensational and full of imagery.  My daughter's gymnastic routine, when she competed, was to Beethovens Fifth.  So ....there you are.  WE like similar composers at least.
Ludvig or Cathy or Luddy.  Lol!
Bye!
from Jeanie or Genie or Gentle....some of my other names.  Lol!  xxx

Well, if I'd realized you were nick named after Ludwig I would have pronounced it Loodie ... it was just a bit of missing info.  Now that I know, no matter what, I'll have to pronounce it Loodie.

And of course, in the back of my mind is the Cathy factor!  I'm somewhat astounded at how many K-Cathys I know on line.

Happy Weekend Dear Friend.

Luddie... I was wondering where it came from... names have history, don't they? Lood, as in good... Luddy as in goody. I get it. Cathy is a good name too. Thanks for visiting me this week... your comments are always appreciated. bea

What a cool source for your nickname! I pronounce it Loodie but to paraphrase WS, "What's in a name, Cathy or Luddie, she's still a woman of mind and heart."--Sheria

LOL. IT's a good thing you love us, right? Actually, I always pronounced it LOODIE, liking how it sounded when I said it. But however it's pronounced it's not the name we're so attached too, but the person.

    Cathy is a good name.
Believe it or not I know a Ludwig. We used to call him Luddy, with a short u. He hates it. He changed his name to Richard.
