Loodee Loves Life!!

Original post from a very exhilarating Oct day in 2007

Oh it's almost uncontainable, the joy, the gift; just knowing I have the ability to feel gratitude for being alive! Who cares about pain, illness, all the physical handcuffs and seeming "barriers", NOTHING can keep you from seeing life is happening all around you. And it's good!

Some say it's God joke, and that's fine too. I like to laugh. Just like you, I've never met God but whatever It is, what's the harm in having faith that we CAN believe in something we can't see or hear. We've experienced things that seem like the inconsequential vagaries and foibles of what man sees as the "burden" of everyday life: driving to work, sitting in traffic, arguments with the boss, worse - BEING the boss - doing the laundry, cooking, cleaning - but hey, aren't these mundane things the very heart of what's so miraculous about life? I think "everyday life" is our gift to ourselves, it's all we HAVE now, it's wonderful, let's USE it, SWIM in it JUMP IN!!! Any day spent on this side of the ground is a good one! Cause I don't know what happens next. I only have a belief system, and the blind but comforting faith that it's right.

Some of us are in great pain. Some in mental distress and depression. Others overwhelmed at home. I can speak to those subjects. But why bother? I WOKE UP TODAY!! YOU DID TOO, DOESN'T THAT EXCITE YOU?!? It might cause someone to write a poem or story when they thought they couldn't, maybe allow someone else to finally make peace with that friend who lies about them, maybe go visit an elder relative and hug them, maybe just find a tree and stare at it, maybe find one's soul.

That's why there's no point in worrying about tomorrow.

Because none of us was sure we'd wake up today.

BUT I DID and if you're reading this, you did too. If all we have is NOW, then whatever we "need" to do can wait, we should be about the business of what we DELIGHT in doing - NOW.

Y'think?

That was a very uplifting entry. I think we all forget to appreciate our lives from time to time (all the time):). We take all the small stuff for granted! Thanks for the entry and the reminder. -Missy

Not one of us can be assured of a tomorrow, when we are given another, we can greatfully rejoice.  I thank God each day for giving me another day.  We all experience the different things that life can give us, the stress, depression, every day work, and activities of daily living.  I personally live 24/7 in pain and know this will continue and progress more severely the rest of my life.  For me, I try and look at each day as a gift.  Look at my pain as a challenge, knowing God gave me this to test me and inspite of it, he wishes me to live to the fullest of my strength and courage to not let this pain rule me.  Each day as I awake, I look around me and look at the gifts God gives each every one of us.  The trees, and sky and clouds, the beauty of a shimmerig lake as the sun beats upon it.  The manigificence of a sunrise and a sunset and the stars and moon in the night sky.  Plants and animal life abound and we are given this all of God's gifts to us, if we only take the time to stop and look.  All of the other trials and stresses fade when I can look at a plant that has bloomed with new life and no that God again blessed me this morning by giving me once again another day and possibly another tomorrow.  So yes, lets jump in and embrace the day we once again have been blessed with.

Good advice.  I do feel very good when I can write a poem.  I am learning that you are very interested in the stars which I don't know a whole lot about them other than the names and shapes of a few constellations that I learned a long time ago.  I miss the skies over my hometown in the country.  We were camping out after we had been living in Los Angeles, and we woke up to so much light in the night I thought it must be a UFO but all it was was the moon and the stars with no smog to hide them and blur their vivid light.  I am glad some journalist is charting the course of the stars.  I have always been fascinted with the ancients study of the stars.  I gave my son Raymond Star Seekers for Xmas once by Colin Wilson and he adored it.  I gave  a grandson Ethan a big book of Cosmos by Carl Sagan, but he's not quite big enough to study it yet, but just in case!.  Gerry
