Partial Lunar Eclipse

This is a very good aproximation of what I've been staring at for a few hours now, it being almost 5 a.m. EST.  A partial lunar eclipse only follows a full moon.

                   seen from my window

The full moon of last weekend was like no other for me, as I got to see it over the Atlantic, close to the water's horizon, from the shore area of Jersey.  This is very much what we saw, without the cloud cover, and when the pix are developed I'll post them.

It was as if luna was rising from the ocean, which was a deep blue-gray.  I spent last weekend down the shore, and now I'm seeing the last of this partial lunar eclipse.  In the short time it took to type this, it's now moved directly above my head.  Maybe not spectacular but enough to keep me awake!

Here's a very beautiful harvest moon eclipse.

This is a great shot of luna and Venus.

Yes, our full moon last week was awesome!   I didn't realize there was a partial lunar eclipse after a full moon~you learn something new everyday.  The last lunar eclipse I was able to see was in March 2008..we were in Las Vegas, heading back to the RV park and Bob said "look at the moon. It looks like we're having an eclipse."  We pulled into the far corner of a gas station & I called my daughter and asked her & she said "ya the kids are outside watching it right now." So we sat in a gas station in Las Vegas and watched it.  I was surprised that my grandkids could see it, because it's usually so cloudy here in Washington you can never see such things!   Linda in WA

The most brilliant moon I've ever seen was when I lived in Fla. near the ocean. Watching the moon rise as if it came out of the sea is a view you won't soon forget. I truly think the Harvest moon is my favorite phase. (Hugs)Indigo

These pictures are spectacular, Luddie.  You bring such beauty to your entries and so much valuable information.  I for one will never forget the eclipse from last year when i nearly killed myself trying to get to see the full eclipse.  Still have a bum shoulder from that, but this one also was beautiful and the full moon indeed was one of the most beautiful I have seen so brilliant and spectacular, I was in Oregon which made it even more beautiful, one of the most lovely states in the U.S.A.
