Inner Space Connects To Outer Space
Does time pass quicker than our brain can think about it happening? OR:
Is it the reverse? Can we think of an event in time before it happens, in a pseudo-future that's actually now? This would mean a strong connection between the human brain (inner space) and the existence of time and outer space. Think of how unique that is!
Time was born with and because of space, coming into existence one for the other, then hundreds of millions of years later, we came along - with these brains. The only organ that can contemplate itself by using itself to do it. But something is bending in time, constantly, and the answer may lie in our thoughts.
You know the drill: You sing an old tune, the next day you're in the car and it's on the radio. You think about a cousin for no real reason then hear she's been in the hospital. A memory of school comes about, a week later someone asks you what your schooldays were like. You dream about someone you don't know, an hour later you meet them. You wish they'd play that old TV show you always liked, days later they do.
Time has a "bend" in it, like a rubber hose bent in the middle so the ends can connect - present connected to future. Now and then we're in that area, that realm where they meet - and because time is only relative to us, it could be a minute, hour, month, year, second.
We use terms like "coincidence" or deja vu yet so much can't be explained in any tossed-off fashion. Why did you sing that song on that particular day, before the radio played it for the first time in 10 years?
Ancient cultures like the Maya and Egyptian knew something very basic about time - we've lost this knowledge, sacrificed in the name of modern progress. Are we abusing time?
Somehow, this is important. And what exactly is a coincidence? Can we be sure it's not something we ourselves are doing naturally, with the help of time and space? The space you're in now, in time, when and how was it arranged? Why?
How magnificent just to think of it all. Or....was I meant to think of this a week from now and for some reason I entered the time/space/thought realm, where everything connects? Or ... did YOU?

I LOVE time!
Seriously. I do not waste time, ever! Even time spent doing nothing is not a waste of time but the indulgence of time. Today is tomorrow's yesterday, it's so poetic. Deja vu... or a second chance? Don't waste it. Remember and indulge!

Absolutely fascinating post, good food for thought!
Take care, Maire
There are no coincidences we just can't see the patterns. I have the most useless super power of talking about movies to have them come on and all the other silly things. I knew Anne Bankcroft would die of cancer but I can't get the lotto numbers.
Thank you for this.
A lot to think.
Interesting post. There's a growing body of literature out there that says what makes us human (and thereby different) is our ability to calculate the future based on the present and its patterns.
One of the first ways you would have seen this acted out is an ancestor of ours with a rock in his hand. He is watching a rabbit run across a field.....his mind makes thousands of calculations - wind speed, air density, weather impacts, speed of the rabbit, how long it takes him to throw, the speed at which he can throw, how the rock is liable to tumble once released, the rabbit's trajectory, and on and on and on, and then all of a sudden all these calculations about what *could* happen are finished and our ancestor acts....he throws the rock and strikes the rabbit.
Did our ancestor see into the future? In a way, yes. But it was this ingenuity and creative (but yet mathematical thinking) that began to separate us from our other animal relatives.
I've experienced all that "coincidence" stuff myself. I have a close friend who thinks I'm just psychic, and I have a "gift" but I don't really think so. It's a weird feeling though, but neat at the same time. We really don't know everything--mystery is good. :) Hugs - Julie
My daughter and I were talking about this very subject today which we referred to as synchronicity, the connection to a future event with what may come to mind before and seem to have no connection. I have dreams of the future which will often contain elements connecting me to two events rather than just one, so that each is a proof. For example about a week or so ago I had a dream of a dark river, very very big and dangerous. I thought it was the River Styx across which the dying are ferried. The next day I saw a documentary on PBS that showed footage of the Amazon River, the largest river in the world. That indicated to me that I saw the River again soon as proof of a dream of a future and to prepare for the darker message. For the first time I thought that someone I have been close to in crisis was going to die. Before I held hope he would recover. This dream which seemed significant may also refer to other people I know who are going to cross the River Styx. Your post on this subject was very lucid. I see you have given this subject considerable thought. Gerry
Cathy,
I have an award for you.
I think it's a beautiful award and it is about the blog's quality.
Hope you like it.

Thank you for your great blog.

*sigh* This post really fired the ol' synapses and neurons!
I really wish you were here, or I there, so I could get a better understanding of this vital concept. The next move I intend to make in my life, is based primarily on the 'coincidences' that point me in the direction that I am going in.
This is a post I will print and prolly revisit in my own journal next week. I can feel the rush of energy filling my head, as it begans to knit the concept to guide me along my way.
Catch you later, gator!!
Hi,
Just came by to say hello.
Have a good Sunday.
Love,
Herrad
Yes Cathy .Interesting post.I agree with this Angle of Yours.
We are taught that our wee brain is a passive thing.......Maybe it's a 2-way process between our Brain and Time/the rest of The World..?
[i hope the following makes sense..)& (what a coincidence!) I was thinking about "coincidence" myself yesterday! The hotel we stayed in on Friday night in Liverpool (The Eleanor Rigby Hotel)
had a guy working the desk on the Saturday morning. His name was PHIL MELIA.He is also the guitarist with The Pete Best Band(Pete the Ex-Beatle Drummer)
Now.On Thursday afternoon I attended the funeral of my best friend's (Phil)Father (called BOB).Phil was due to come with us to the Dylan gig,but dropped out because of his dad's death.
The guy who runs the Undertakers is called MELIA .Melia had previously on that Thursday rung me on a seperate issue (another coincidence!)things to do with a headstone he is building for my late-Mother's Grave..........
Anyway!!!! When this bloke told us he was called "Phil Melia" my heart when pear-shaped!
Facinating entry Cathy ~ I am enthralled by Time and Space ~ you have given me a lot of food for thought ~ Ally x
Possible, but you left out the variable of all the OTHER songs that go through out minds (brains) that DIDN'T play that day, all the people that didn't pop up when we thought of them. I see dead people, always have, so does my 102 year old aunt, THAT is a time/mind connection I can't figure out.
I have read all the comments in this entry, very interesting concepts. Luddie it is always a supreme joy to read your entries. Most are thought provoking but always are of top quality and have so much knowledge to impart to each of us. My concept of how we seem to know something or something we think about you see a short time later, for me is quite simple. I am an earth angel, I know these things, lol. You will understand my friend I know only you will. It defies description how things happen, we cant think about it forever and gives different opinions but it is quite simple and only the Lord knows.
